History
Angora Goats have been documented in Sumerian cuneiform tablets as early as the eleventh century. The Angora Goat which produces the fiber known as "Mohair" probably originated from Central Asia in the province of Angora (present day Ankara). Angora Goats have been in the United States since 1849.

Are Angora Goats Right For You?
Angora Goats are mainly raised for mohair production, not meat or dairy, meaning less work and no killing. Angora Goats are curious, quiet, entertaining creatures. They are not aggressive towards people, and even at the height of breeding season bucks do not smell as strong as other types of goats. Angora Goats have few diseases and are generally healthy, hardy animals. They have few kidding problems and with good nutrition, regularly have twins and occasionally triplets.

Our Angora Goats
At Silver Creek Meadows we intentionally keep a small herd. We spend a great deal of time with them each day. We know each animals' personality, habits, and needs. Our philosophy is that it is not only important to raise Angoras with quality confirmation and fiber, but also good temperment. We have a small group of goats for sale each year, call or email us for animal availability.
